On May 7th 2011 dad has recieved an award from the Cowtown Society. Pretty neat that after all these years past that my dad is still being recognized and seeked for his great talent in music. Just like to say thanks to all who still remember my dad and still think about him from time to time..
Hello everyone and thanks for visiting. I am Merle's son and have decided to have a web site dedicated to my dad. He was a great man, good humored individual and a excellent musician. He was a very involved musician and someone who was sought after for his great talent and entertainment. I don't think he ever met a stranger. Dad had a few tricks up his sleeve too when it came to trick fiddlin'. I always liked to see him perform his tricks with the fiddle while playing those breakdown tunes. Here you will find pictures, music and some history of Merle David. Being that I came along years later into his career.. I'm sure this is just touching the tip of iceburg about him.

Dad has since passed away in March 2002 and is missed by family and friends from all over the country. He will always be remembered as one of the greats in country music western swing.
